Continuity editing

In my hybrid genre, I want to contain continuity in my editing.

This is to maintain a consistent and unbroken film, with clean cuts and professional editing.

To do this, I have to try and not break certain rules.

This means keeping to my 180 degree rule.

This is the 180 degree rule, It is mainly used to show the relationship to show two characters. To achieve this rule, you need to always keep the camera on one side of the axis. This is a line that goes straight through the middle. If the camera passes this axes, the cut jumps. This decreases the relationship on continuity. If broken, from a film perspective, it looks like both characters have swapped sides. Thus the film breaks continuity and viewers can recognise this as being a fault.
I shall also try and not and break the 30 degree rule. This is to avoid all jump cuts. This simpily means when filming someone, or something, I try and not move more than 30 degrees. If broken, it looks like the camera has jumped and thus the continuity does not flow.

Here is an example.
